barnaba fornasetti used the 'vade retro' graphics also for a cube charity box, as part of the EMERGENCY PROJECT FOR JAPAN,
which was exhibited during the salone del mobile in milan - in corso como 9.
the design exhibition supports the victims of the earthquake and tsunami that hit japan on 11 march.
fornasetti, among 58 designers, has decided to participate with his own charity box, where visitors could placed their donations.

Inspired by late 19th, early 20th century sculptors shying away from the restrictions of the classics, there was also, in my mind, a very tiny splash of McQueen’s Atlantis, with the crustacean carapaces, but as if gazing at similar inspirations from a different perspective.

Iris van Herpen, alumna of Vauxhall Fashion Scout, winner of the 2010 Dutch Fashion Award and undeniable talent, was showing for the first time in Paris on couture’s sparse off-schedule. Those attending were forgoing the tempting sirens of more established couture houses, in favour of the bleeding edge of fashion, a fitting place for work that you’d be hard-pressed to define as ready-to-wear.
